I have been using Outlook 2002 to access my Hotmail account via HTTP for
over a year now without problems. All of a sudden, while synchronizing, I am
able to receive and read new messages, but I unable to send messages
composed in Outlook.
If I compose a hotmail email within Outlook 2002, and then push send, the
'send/receive' message appears and it hangs on 'sending hotmail' for about
30 seconds. Then a check-mark appears saying that the message was sent.
If I check the sent-mail folder within the hotmail tab (in Outlook), the
message is not there even after multiple refreshes. I have tried about 30
test messages (sent to different domains, different email addresses, etc)
with a 100% failure rate. I have recently made two changes to my computer,
and I think one of them may have caused this problem:
First, I upgraded my router to a wireless setup (however, the computer with
the problems is still connected to the router via a cable, i.e. not wireless
yet). The router is a D-Link DI-714P+. Is there a possible setting or port
filter I should be looking at?
Second, on the same day I installed the router, I ran the Windows Critical
Update for ADODB.stream (#KB870669). Could this have caused
the problem?
Any help would be appreciated!
