In Outlook 2003, click Tools>Options>Other>Advanced Options and uncheck the
box labeled "Use Unicode Message Format when saving messages" and I believe
the .MSG files will be compatible.

I also use the tools from Priasoft. One cool thing I can do with the
tools from www.priasoft.com is open MSG files that are on read only
storage like CD, etc. - BTW - they support both unicode and non-unicode
version of MSG files.
