outlook 2002

Since installing Outlook 2002 and Microsoft ActiveSync on my computor, I
remain unable to get either of these programs to work. When I trigger the
Outlook Icon, I am shown a window that says:
"Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Could not open them. Try again."
I am then asked:
"Would you like to open your default file system folder instead?" Y/N.
When I select Yes, I then get placed into the "My Computor" site which
dsplays the following folders: Acer C. Acer D (drives), Shared Documents,
and Acer Documents folders.
As a consequence I remain unable to sync or download information onto my
PDA. Can anyone suggest a solution please. I have not been able to use
since having XXXXXP Pro service pack 2 installed

Open Control Panel>User Accounts>Mail>Show Profiles. Select your mail
profile and click Properties, then Data Files. What do you see? Verify
that you see a name and that it points to a valid PST file. If there is no
name, click Add and create a Personal Folders file.

Here's the solution: Open CONTROL PANEL, click MAIL, then SHOW PROFILES,
click ADD (Enter a new name for your email; mine was "outlook"; I changed it
to MS OUTLOOK"...whatever.... click ADD , CLICK always use this profile. Now
click PROPERTIES, then EMAIL ACCOUNTS, click ADD A NEW EMAIL ACCOUNT. (nOW
JUST ENTER YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, USER NAME, INCOMING, OUTGOING, PASSWORD, ETC.
Be certain to click TEST CONNECTIONS. i HAD A PROBLEM BECAUSE i HAD NOT
ENTERED THE CORRECT USER NAME.) Finally it's working great! Not as pretty as
ver 2003, but who cares
warmly, ROSCOE
