Outlook 2003 - 2002

M

Megh

Hello,

I recently reformatted my hard drive, and through some combination of
factors I ended up going from outlook 2003 to outlook 2002 (I had upgraded to
office 2007, but discovered it didn't have outlook, so I had to use an old
disk).

Anyway, I had backed up my e-mails as pst files. Unfortunately the older
version of outlook wont let me import the messages from my 2003 outlook. To
make matters worse, outlook express can't even SEE the pst files in order to
import them. Is there anyway to solve this?

Thanks

Well, if you're going to have to stay with Outlook 2002 then I suppose
what you could do is find a machine with Outlook 2003 or 2007 on it (or
download and install the Outlook 2007 trial) and open the PST there.
Then create an old-format (Outlook 97-2002) PST file and copy your items
from the existing PST into the new, old-format, PST and take that back
to your machine (or uninstall the trial and reinstall Outlook 2002).
