For Outlook 2003 and 2007, the send/receive notification in the lower right
corner of the Outlook window displays how many total e-mails are being
downloaded. For one client using Outlook 2003 and another client using
Outlook 2007, not all the available e-mails are downloaded to Outlook. This
observation is confirmed two ways: 1) by using webmail, it is apparent that
some of the e-mails have not been downoaded; and 2) setting up the same
e-mail account in Outlook Express does result in all the e-mails being
downloaded to that program. It does not seem to be related to the presence
of attachments, as e-mails with attachments are often downloaded into
Outlook. Finally, the problem does tend to be sporadic, with the clients
reporting that sometimes they do, indeed, receive all the e-mail messages
that are indicated by the status display in the lower right corner.
