I have an ASUS G1 notebook, which comes with a feature, called "direct
console", consisting basically of a little display on the top of the keyboard
that lets you know if, for instance, a new email has arrived (especially
useful when you are using an application that is taking all the screen).
The problem is that every time the Asus Direct Console wants to access the
the Outlook 2003 inbox (my default mail application) to check the subject of
the new email (which is shown in the little display), Outlook 2003 pops up a
small prompt message asking me if I let this application to have access to
the inbox. It will only give me 4 options: No, for 1 minute, for 5 minutes,
or, maximum, for 10 minutes.
Now, if you receive emails often, this is a little bit annoying. So far, I
have not found anywhere in the Outlook 2003 menus an option to deactivate the
message and/or allow this application to have permanent access. The only
alternative option is to completely disable the "direct console", which I
would like to avoid since I like it (not only for the email-stuff but also
other issues).
I have read in other forums in internet that people using Outlook 2007 does
not have this problem.
Does anyone know how could I deactivate this option and/or allow the
application to have access to Outlook 2003 permanently?
