Outlook 2003 and attaching PDF's

I asked this question before but got no responses and I can't believe no one
else has run in to this problem. We have an employee who after having major
problems with exchange on our server, tries to send out an email with a pdf
attachement and it arrives at the recipients as a .dat file. He can send it
to his home and others in the office can take the same pdf file and email it
and the same receipient gets it as a pdf file. Is there a flag in the
background that got set or on his user name? We are running xp on the
individual pc's and 2000 on the server.

Is it only PDFs? Or other attachments as well?

Try sending the message as either plain text or HTML and see if it gets
there fine.

Hi,

I had a similar problem where the recipient would only receive a .dat
attachment.
The problem in this case was at the exchange end and the recipient was using
Lotus Notes with Lotus Domino server. IBM have a resolution and there are a
couple of links to the Microsoft KB articles that tell you how to resolve
this.

Only pdf's and he sends them all in HTML. Any other suggestions?
