Outlook 2003 and Hotmail

I have just signed up for a hotmail account. I have gone through the new
account wizard but cannot pick up email from my hotmail box. I seem to be
able to send an email from my hotmail account using Outlook but I get and
error message:-
Task 'Hotmail (1): Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error
(0x800CCCF0) : 'The service is currently unavailable. Try again later.The
server responded 'Service Unavailable'. 'when I try to collect my email.
I have tried later but still get the same message.
I heard somewhere that Hotmail and Outlook no longer work together which
seems strange as they are both Microsoft products.
Can anyone throw light on this problem?

A new Hotmail account will not work with either Outlook or Outlook Express
unless it is a *paid* Hotmail account.

Thanks for the info. I had heard something along those lines. If not Outlook,
what can you use to pick-up mail from the highly touted "FREE" Hotmail?
