Outlook 2003 and IMAP email accounts - a couple of questions

Hi,

My domain host has changed my incoming mail server to an IMAP one, which
appears to have had some rather unfortunate (at least to me) effects when
linked to Outlook 2003. Please can someone help me to answer the following
issues:

How do I get all emails to be downloaded on to Outlook, so they do not stay
on my email inbox on the webhost server.

How can I download my email messages directly onto my Outlook inbox, rather
than the specific one for this email address (which has been automatically
generated by outlook)

When I delete or move the emails from the dedicated email inbox they remain
their greyed with a line through them - can these be removed

How can I arrange to get the emails fully downloaded into the aforesaid
mentioned inbox, without having to mark them specifically for download.

Many thanks for your help

Regards

You have to physically move them to your local Personal Folders file...
(AFAIK)

If it's an IMAP account, then AFAIK that's what you are stuck with.....

Yes - depending on what version of Outlook - in 2007 go to Edit-Purge

Thanks Gordon,

For the uninitiated (me) what does AFAIK mean?
Is the edit function available on Outlook 2003?

A rule that moves every message from the IMAP Inbox to the local PST Inbox
will do that.

You cannot. IMAP folders cannot be the delivery location.

No. That's how IMAP works. You can, however, change the view to "Hide
Messages Marked for Deletion"
How can I arrange to get the emails fully downloaded into the

for download.

The rule I mentioned.
