Dan
I want to prevent the automatic launching of Windows
Messenger (msmsgs.exe) when I'm in Outlook 2003, and only
want to do IM when I choose to launch MSN Messenger.
I used to be able to do what I want in Outlook 2002 by
turning off IM within Outlook, but I can't find the
equivalent in Outlook 2003.
I've unselected "Enable the Person Names Smart Tag" in
Outlook, I've unselected "Run Windows Messenger When
Windows Starts" in Windows Messenger, and I've even
killed the process msmsgs.exe after it starts by itself.
But it always re-launches automatically in a few minutes
or when I do another folder synch.
I'm not referring to the Messenger Service, and I don't
want to disable or uninstall Windows MEssenger - I just
don't want it to launch by itself when I'm using Outlook
2003.
Any ideas? thanks!
