Outlook 2003 and Wireless Home Network

I just recently set up a home wireless network for my new
laptop, but I'm not happy with the way OUtlook 2003
starts up when connected wirelessly to the network. It
takes four to five times the amount of time for Outlook
to access my hotmail inbox when I am connected wirelessly
as when I'm connected directly by an ethernet cable.
Does anybody have any suggestions of settings that I
could tweak to improve this performance issue?
