There are clearly different default toolbars in Word 2003 when started on
its own (Standard toolbar and Formatting toolbar displayed) vs. when started
from Outlook 2003 as an e-mail editor (only e-mail toolbar displayed)... but
I can't figure out where these are set, or what template files they are
stored in.
It's a problem becuase I have one thrid party toolbar (from Reference
Manager) that I want to load whenever I start Word on its own, but not when
I start Word as an e-mail editor from Outlook.
I can manually turn the Refman toolbar on in Word and off in Word as an
e-mail editor, but the settings seem to conflict, and won't stay correct for
long.
Specifically, if I shut down Outlook when Word is not running, then the
settings in Outlook seem to overwrite those in Word, and the Refman toolbar
does not load the next time Word starts. This doesn't happen if Word is
always running when Outlook is shut down.
Any help on how to keep the toolbar settings for Word vs. Word as e-mail
editor separated would be greately appreciated!
This is frustrating becuase I really only upgraded the rest of Office
becuase I like Outlook 2003 and wanted to continue to use Word as my e-mail
editor.
Incidently... I'd happily just leave the RefMan toolbar on in all cases
except that it won't remeber its position in Word as an e-mail editor, and
always takes up an entire line for a few buttons. Oddly, it has no problem
rembering its position in Word proper.
Thanks,
