Outlook 2003 Automation

I have a client that is currently using Bynari for their Mail (IMAP). They
are wanting to implement Exchange 2003 on a 2003 server in a 2000 domain and
remove the Outlook plugins for Calendering & the address book. From what I
understand, this will be a client side migration by exporting the pst file
from each PC and then uninstalling the Outlook plugins, then pointing each
user to use the Exchange server and then importing the pst. Is there any way
to automate this so a visit is not required to the hundreds of PC's??? They
are on a 2000 domain.

No need to export. All the data is already in a .pst file, so why export it to another?

You may be able to use the ExMerge tool for Exchange to help automate the import of the .pst data into the new mailboxes.

Forgive me if I am wrong but doesn't MAPI keep all the emails stored on the
server?

"MAPI" doesn't keep email message anywhere. MAPI is a programming interface.

Maybe you're confusing it with IMAP? The Bynari Insight Connector for Outlook, which is what I presume you're using, works by proxying all the data from the server account into a Personal Folders .pst file. That file is what you should import into the mailbox.

Ugh!!!! You're right, I was confusing that with IMAP. Too many acronymns.

So - there should be a .pst on every client in the normal directory without
any action on my or anyone's part?

Yes, if you are using Bynari's Insight Connector to work with IMAP accounts in Outlook.
