Outlook 2003 - basic questions

M

Mythic Wave

Hello again,

(sorry, I accidentally posted under the name "Microsoft" before)

I have Outlook 2003 installed on a computer at home and at work. I have a
few basic configuration questions.

1) On one computer, I'm able to change the current view with a series of
radio buttons inside a "Current View" pane below my "All Mail Folders" pane.
The radio buttons say "IMAP messages", "Hide Messages Marked for Deletion",
etc. I can't figure out how to make this pane visible on my other computer.
I didn't see any preferences related to it.

2) On one computer I have a "News" menu which when clicked, launches Outlook
Express. I can't figure out how to make this menu appear on my other
computer. However, now the News menu doesn't work, but opens an explorer
window to D:\Program Files\Common Files\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033.

3) Is there a way to change the folder that sent messages are saved to? Do
I need a rule for this?

Thanks,

Brian

1) assuming outlook 2003 on both - look on the views arrange by menu - show
in nav pane option near the bottom.

2) To get the News command back, go back to the Programs tab in Control
Panel | Internet Options and change the default newsreader to Outlook
Express. If OE prompts you to make it your default newsreader the next
time you launch it, click the "Don't ask me again" box and then click the
No button. You may need to reset the menu or toolbar using Tools, customize.
