Outlook 2003 - Business contact history showing everything!

M

Maurice Thompson

Hi,

I have a seroius problem with the new business contact
manager software. It was working perfectly by showing all
the history related to each business contact (notes,
phone logs, emails etc...)

Now the history list is showing every email in my inbox
and it takes forever to load ?!? and I don't know why
this is happening.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Regards

Maurice

Maurice, I have been struggling with this too. I don't know the
answer. Loading Outlook gets slow! I'd like some help fixing this
problem, so I will watch this post.

I too have been experiencing this same problem. In
addition I get error reports generated and it says it
must close, but it does not. Someone has an answer soon
I hope.

I tried your suggestion and it did not work. Any other thoughts?

I have had this same problem and have done several things that seem to
resolve it. It still occurs occassionally - but if I repeat these steps -
it seems to fix it.
1. First - clear the forms cache: Tools>Options>Other>Advanced
Options>Custom Forms>Manage Forms>Clear Cache
2. search and find: Frmcache.dat and rename it then delete it. The most
current one - there may be old ones from previous versions of outlook you
have been running - I haven't touched those.
3. Close outlook completely including removing any pda from the cradle and closing activesync.
4. Re-open outlook.

This seems to solve the problem for me - once I had to completely reboot
the computer but it solved the problem.
Apparently BCM "unloads" some of the forms that it needs to show the
correct account/contact history. When this occurs - everything appears.
Thus - clearing the cache and re loading outlook seems to reload the forms.
I've also noticed that this problem occurs more frequently when I have open
multiple windows with outlook (tasks, emails, etc).
It seems this product was a quick add-on without much thought given to
fixing it. I'll be curious to see if MS supports this thing with fixes.
