Outlook 2003 Cached mode and accessing muliple profiles easily

Hi, I have a problem at the moment where I have multiple users logging
into the one Windows account, as they are on Dialup and have no
authentication method into Windows, but then with Email they are
authenticating to Exchange. I have implemented Outlook 2003 cached mode
on these PC's and have got it to work well in that they all have their
own profile to logon to for Email. But I recently found out that if you
click on anyone elses profile it will prompt to logon to the exchange
to receive emails, but if you cancel on this it simply opens their
email account, which is a bit of a security concern as everyone can
read any ones mail. Does anyone out there know of a way to lock down
each profile i.e. without authentication the first time you can log on
or another method I can use, the reason I chose Cached mode was that it
does work a lot better for Dialup. If any one has any ideas that would
be Greatly appreciated.

I have the exact problem, except my users authenticate to the domain directly
with a generic login then have individual email accounts. This is a major
security problem from MSFT and I can't find any information anywhere on the
KB about this. Has anyone contacted you or replied to this problem from
MSFT? They are supposed to monitor this forum and help with known issues.

If security is important, then each user should have their own windows
account. If security isn't that important, you can disable cached mode -
this is not a new issue and has always happened with offline file access.

Hi, thanks for your reply, but unfortunately I understand what you are
saying but they physically can't be setup this way and security is
important. The only way to get around it is to setup them in Exchange
mode, which we have done previously. But due to the fact they are a
dialup connection it is very slow and inefficient compared to Cached
mode. What would be good and we have actually talked to Microsoft about
this, but there is nothing that can be done, would be for the cache
mode to be able to put a password in when they select their profile.
