I'm using vb6.0 com addin for Outlook. When the addin loads it goes to
a specific public folder (contacts folder) and reads a load of
properties, some are MAPI properties, some Named properties and some
user defined named properties. I use Outlook Redemption and MAPI
tables (GetRow so size not the problem) to get this information and it
all works fine until... Outlook 2003 Cached Mode, and/or selecting
option to choose connection type when starting!
If either of these options is set (regarless of choosing offline or
online) the MAPI named properties are returned but all other named/user
defined properties are not!
I have copied my public folder to Favourites and set up Outlook to
automatically download public folder favourites - everything appears in
order.
I can see that all the properties exist (online and offline in
Favorites as well as original public folder) with Outlook Spy so am
stumped as to why I can't read them when I load my addin if these
options are set... aaaaaarrrgghh... can someone think what I might be
doing wrong, I can't figure it out!
It seems OK with 2000 and XP (although I haven't tested extensively).
But 2003 deals with offline files/folders quite differently (cached
mode) so wondering if this might have something to do with it? I've
only just started working with offline folders so excuse me if this is
really obvious - hoping it is actually
