Outlook 2003 Cannot send from account -- reported error (0x800CCC7

[Frustrated]

I have 3 pop3 accounts configured in Outlook 2003. 2 days ago one account
(the default account) started to intermittently send or not send messages. 1
day after that it would not send at all. I get the following message:
Sending' reported error (0x800CCC78) : 'Unable to send the message.
Please verify the e-mail address in your account properties.
The server responded: 530 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first

I have deleted the email account and recreated, I have also created a new
profile.
Neither made a difference. I am receiving email just fine, just cannot send
from this one account. If I change the default account to one of the others,
the mail sends fine.

I have the same information on another computer in Outlook 2003 without any
issues.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That's can be indicative of using the wrong port for a secure session or of
trying to secure a session on an unsecured port. Check the SSL settings on
the Advanced tab and the authentication settings on the Outgoing Server tab.
Finally, check the E-mail field of the account just to make sure there are
no extraneous blanks or characters in the address.

Checking the "this server requires an encrypted connection SSL" on the
advanced tab for the outgoing server seems to have fixed the issue. Thank

I hate when they change stuff and do not tell the customer about it.

Hi Friend

I think you are using exchange server 2007. I was also facing the same
problem but now it has been resolved. The problem is that login information
is required to logon to the smtp server.

So, on outgoing server tab in internet email setting, sellect my outgoing
server required authentication.

Then select combo log on using
and provide yousername and pass

it will work now.

originators, which is consulted on-the-fly by mail servers. So, your IP
address, 84.36.24.218, which belongs to "RIPE NCC" is reported to have sent
spam, and is
therefore being blocked.
