Outlook 2003 Compatibility with Outlook 2000

I am trying to send calendar invitations from my Outlook
2003 version to someone using Outlook 2000. Outlook 2000
does not allow accepting of that invitation, is there some
kind of patch for 2000 that will allow it to be compatible
with 2003 or does 2000 need to be upgraded to 2003 all
together? Or does any one know of a way I can send the
invitation in a 2000 compatible format?

If there is a reminder set on the invitation, turn it off and resend -- see
if that helps.
