Outlook 2003 configuration

My office updated from Office 2000 pro to Outlook 2003 sp2, keeping the older
word, excel, etc. Now, when opening some emails, outlook want to install a
package from data1.msi for outlook 2000. When I put in the office 2000 cd, I
get a message about being the wrong version. When I put in the outlook 2003
cd I get a file not found message.

I uninstalled outlook 2003 and reinstalled selecting all options be
installed, not run on first use or run from cd. Same error message comes up.
Where can I look to track down the culprit?

Running win xp sp2, ie 7.0, windows firewall (no third party), avg 7.1 virus
scanner.
