Hi,
I regularly get a connectivity problem. I can receive email, but I cannot
send. The message is "Trying to connect, Disconnected". I have IP, I can
Ping, access intranet, VPN etc, I can receive email.
I suspect this problem is triggered by a fault in our enterprise LAN/router,
where I first get "LAN cable disconnected" error. Even though the connection
comes back so that I get IP ok, I have lost my ability to send email.
The tech guys tried new profile etc, all the standard stuff and yes I did
empty my inbox, so this is not a folder size issue.
We even discovered that even when Outlook is *fully* closed down, there is
still some low level process holding the *.ost file open. We couldn't figure
out which low level process (there are dozens in task manager).
The first time this happened, I even rebooted, but the problem still
persisted.
Any ideas? Thanks
