Outlook 2003 Contacts look weird after 7000 contacts stored inside

Hi everyone, Good day to you.

I face a problem here. This problem only occurs when the outlooks contacts
folder host more tha 7000 contacts. It happenned in Outlook 2002 and i
thought Outlook 2003 will have solve the problem but seem like still
happenned in Outlook 2003.

My boss has stored more than 8000 contacts in his outlook contact folder.
The email address of the contact will change to invalid email address. Last
week the contact is like (e-mail address removed) but today it turns to abc. So the
email that he sent has bounced back. This only happenned on and off when
the contacts folder has reach to 8000 records. So i would like to know it is
a limitation of the outlook contact folders?

A very weird thing is last week when we upgrade our outlook 2002 to outlook
2003, we have put the file as "First, Last" and the time we did the
migration, everything is fine, but today when i check it back, the contacts
belong to the exchange server, has turn to file as "Last, First" Is there
any rule of options in the exchange server which overright the setting of the
outlook 2003?

Contacts fodlers can hold more than 64,000 contacts.

No, it's not a limitation of the Contacts folders. Where do you see the
change occurring? Which field of which form?

There are 2 cases that i see the email address changing.

1st, is when we display it in details address card, we see the email address
is invalid like (e-mail address removed) then when we click to see the full details,
in the contact the email address will be abc only. This is happen when the
email is bounced back and we check on it then only we found it.

2nd, is when we see the dispaly in details address card is invalid only abc,
then we click to see the contact, but the email address in the contact is
valid, is (e-mail address removed).

This 2 case is only happenned in our company employee email address.

I got the excel file that export out from another subsidary exchange server
and i import it into the contacts. It is okie when it is imported and then
yesterday only we found that the file as has changed, and the changes is
happened in our company employee email address only, other remain okie.

Double-click the "Email" field. What do you see?

contacts and u will see the email display is (e-mail address removed) and if in this
case, the email can sent out without any problem. If in the other way, we
received the bounce back from the email address, and then only we found that
the email has changed to abc. If you double click on the email, it shows

email address: abc
email type: SMTP

Correct the "E-mail Address" field in the above and save the contact. The
Display Name and the E-mail Address field are actually unrelated (although
by default the former should include the latter).

ya, all the time we are doing such correction. The problem here is if the
error happened, and the email bounced back only we found out the email
address has changed, it is too late. I think this is not the permanent
solutions.

Is anyone manipulating the contact via the Address Book interface? That can
produce the effect you're seeing.
