Outlook 2003 Contacts query

S

Sandy Miller

In outlook 2003 I have been manipulating contacts between
folders in my personal folders in outlook.

I created a new contacts folder called 999 and populated
it with contacts for temporary manipulation.

Afterwards I deleted the folders - or so I thought. My
normal contacts remains my main contacts folder and it
contains all my current contact info.

If I create a new email and click on the 'to' button I
get an error saying 'The address list could not be
displayed. The contacts folder associated with this
address list could not be opened; it may have been moved
or deleted, or you do not have permissions. Outlook cant
find the contact in the current folder - '999' would you
believe. If I click the dialogue I get into the list
of 'contact' folders and can then make my choice.

However this dialogue has other contact folders that I
created and then deleted and it is a little annoying - I
just want it to default to contacts as usual.

TIA

Sandy

Solution is go into 'Address Book' and change and
modify 'search' folders for contact and email addy
resolution.

This 'keeps' details of your previous contacts folders
even after deletion and requires a manual edit to remove
them.

Thanks.

Can't you just remove the outdated references to Contacts Folders that no
longer exist?
Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change.
