Outlook 2003 crashes on Startup

Hi there,

I just installed Office 2003 Pro on a few PCs and on a couple of the PCs
Outlook 2003 won't open.

It begins to open as the Office 2003 splash screen appears and the
application begins to load but stops when the Configuring Outlook Dialog box
appears.

It fails on the first option, which is 'Migrating Account Settings'

The program just stops responding and never gets to the other options in the
Configuring Outlook Dialog box.

The other options are as follows: -

Migrating Preferences, Creating Welcome Screen & Importing User Data.

I am on a WIN XP Pro domain-based network with an exchange server running
but for some reason on a couple of PCs won't let me load outlook 2003 to
access my mail from our exchange server.

The rest of Office 2003 is working fine i.e. Word, Excel etc.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2003 and reapplying SP1

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Tony

Tony,

I have the same problem expect that Outlook goes into Safe Mode after the
configuration. Have checked the Event Viewer against the Knowledge Base,
in/reinstalled Office and started Outllok with a different profile, to no
avail. I'm the only one having this problme in my office however.

Anyway, thought this might give you some ideas
