Outlook 2003: Critical Meeting Participant reminders?

M

Mr.Jan

I work for a government agency and there seems to be a culture of not
responding to calendar invitations. I recently coordinated a meeting
where the client agency showed up but none of the tech staff from the
support side. Had to reschedule. I put in a task with reminder for the
day prior to the meeting and had to make phone calls to get
attendees. I know 2003 is "stone age" but is there a way in ANY
version of Outlook to automatically remind certain invitees they have
not responded?

I can't add anything to a government computer. These are supposed to
be secure machines. Good idea though.

I figured that would be a problem, but unfortunately it's the only way to
automate reminders. You can create a task for each meeting to remind you to
send the reminders... which I assume you are doing now.

Do you sync your mailbox with a smartphone or pda?

Yes, I am setting up tasks but that is a pretty manual work around.
