Outlook 2003 Custom Contact Form

We have a custom made contact form that is used company wide here at
headquarters and also at remote locations. Regardless which “current viewâ€
we choose we are able to view the details of listed contacts in the custom
form format. However, whenever we perform a search on the contact list by
clicking the “Find (Ctrl+E)†icon in the toolbar, the details of some
contacts can be viewed in the custom form format and the details of other
contacts are displayed in the standard format. There is more information on
our custom form that is not available on the standard form and we just cannot
get to this information when using the standard form. If the contact search
is successful, then users have to exit the search (Find) mode and sift
through the contacts in the default mode. When searching for a contact that
begins with the letter S for example, a user can go directly to the S section
of the list by clicking the S button on the alphabetized sort pane to the
right of the list in the Detailed Address Cards view. This becomes
cumbersome when there are many S contacts to sift through, which is why
having the custom form display contact details after performing a “find†is
important for us.

Sounds like you're not up to date on your service packs. That form issue was fixed in Office 2003 Sp1.

Thanks for the suggestion, however, after upgrading to both sp1 and sp2 we
still had some contacts that just would not display in the custom format. At
least you got me to get my Officd upgrades up-to-date though. :) Still
looking for more help on this.

Check the value of the MessageClass property. Is it pointing to your published custom form's class?
