Outlook 2003 Custom Forms and Folder Shortcuts

A custom form that normally works when activated from the action menu
associated with a particular folder will not work with a shortcut to that
same folder. A message stating [the form could not be displayed, object not
found] comes up.

Is there any way to fix this problem?

What kind of shortcut? What kind of form (message, contact, etc.)?

The form is a custom form derived from the Vacation Request form from Tom
Rizzo's book "Programming Outlook...". I had the form running for a few
years in Outlook 2000. I also modified the form to add a leave entry into
an outlook calendar.

The shortcut is a folder shortcut which appears under public folders in the
navigation pane. The shortcut was created by right-clicking on a public
folder and "creating shortcut". The shortcut actually appears more like the
actual folder than a shortcut like the ones one the old "Outlookbar". When
I select the custom form from the "Action" menu the form appears to load,
but an error message (described in my post) appears instead of the form.
The same behavior happens when I use the Shortcut button on the navigation
pane to create the shortcut. If I go directly to the folder, I can use the
"Action" menu to instance the form and it works properly.

I really do appreciate your help.

Sounds like you're encountering the Public Folder\Favorites forms cache
problem. There is a hotfix. See
