Outlook 2003 - delay in typing

When I use Outlook 2003 and start typing an email there is a delay before
from when I type to when the letters show up on a screen. There is a delay
after maybe every 5th letter.

Also, Outlook is slow to repsond when I click on one of the drop down menus.

This does not happen in any other program on that computer including Word
2003.

do you have voice/speech enabled? That is one of several causes. Look in
control panel, regional and language settings.

do you have an extensive list of domain in the restricted list in IE's
Tools, Options, Restricted sites zone? if you use one of several "spybot"
programs, you probably do.... delete the list and it should work better. Or
use plain text format with the outlook editor or use word as the editor. (My
choice would be to eliminate the huge list of restricted sites since I don't
visit the seedy side of the 'net.)
