Outlook 2003 DelegateSentItemsStyle not working - KB953804

Wouter de Jong

Hi,

I can't get DelegateSentItemsStyle working under Outlook 2003 (see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953804/)

If I run the 'Fix This' utility found on that page, it says it doesn't apply
to my system.
Also when I apply manually (the simple registry change), it does not work.

It requires hotfix of KB953803 to be installed.

However, according to KB953432 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953432/),
this one supersedes KB953803.
And I do have KB953432 installed.

However, the version of for example Exsec32.dll in KB953432 is 11.0.8215.0,
but the one in KB953803 is 11.0.8221.0 (and has a newer date).
So how can 953432 supersede/replace 953803 ?

What to do to get this working ? :)

Any help much appreciated.

When looking closer, the 953432 only contains older (or equal) components
then 953803, and none newer.

These ones are newer in 953803 :

Exsec32.dll
Outlib.dll
Outlook.exe

Maybe 953803 accidently not got included into 953432 ?

Would it be safe to install 953803 ?

Tried applying KB953803 anyway?
Note that asking Microsoft Product Support questions regarding a hotfix is
free (as stated in the KB article).

Hi Roady,

Contact can only be made by phone it seems, for 'online' option I must pass
credit card info.

Anyway, I took the jump and just installed KB953803.
Afterwards, I could run the 'Fix It' tool from KB953804 and it added the
registry entry.

And the result : it works :)

So I still wonder why KB953432 lists that it updates KB953803, while it
apparently does not.
I noticed the same with file versions of another update listed there.

Or should I read that 953432 has updates awaiting in the form of KB953803,
etc,etc ?

Would be strange, cause the update was released after those hotfixes...

It could have been forgotten or the KB is wrong.

Note that your credit card is only charged after the call and if applicable.
You need to provide the information in advance so you won't do a
"hit-and-run" when you've become the answer.

Thanks for the info, very good to know for the future :)
I called them, and they would look into it and let me know.

Thanks for your assistance.
