Outlook 2003, "Design this form" opens Outlook 2000's default contact form design

O

OSHM

We just installed Office 2003 Profesional Edition.
Installed it to a Windows 2000 PC, working on a Small Business Server 2000
based LAN.

To redesign and add "department" field in the first page of the utlook
2003's new look Contact form; we open an empty New Contact Form, go to
Tools>Forms>Design This Form.

But the form opens is not the Outlook 2003's contact form but instead, a
contact form with a look of Outlook 2000's default contact form opens.

Why is that?
What we should do to to be able to add a field in the Outlook 2003's "new
look" contact form.

Thanks,
Hakan

Dear Mrs. Poremsky,

That might be the way how it reacts, but I don't understand how that could
be called; normal!

I would really appreciate if you could tell, why it reacts like that. (opens
in a completely different look when you try to redesign it but retains its
look if you don'T touch anything in the first page)

Actuall, it doesn't let us change anything in other pages. You can not
change captions, field values, layout, etc. Only page one can be retouched.
For example, you can not change anything under the details tab of the design
view. Is that also, 'normal' ?

Finally, if we really liked the new look and want to use, but with the
"department" field added to it, what we could do?

Thanks,
Hakan

the ol2003 look when published. if you add anything to the first page, it
reverts to the old look.

Why? Who knows - it's just how it works. It has something to do with how the
picture control was added but I don't know the details.

You should have (P.2) through (P.6) available to edit. Details is not
editable, never has been.

AFAIK, there is no way to avoid losing the new look - i.e., the picture
control - when you add fields. You can't even move an existing control, you
need to add fields to the blank pages.
