outlook 2003 doesn't ask for profile when opening

Hi,
I have 4 profiles in outlook and I am suppose to be able to choose which
profile I want to open (this option is enabled in control panel->mail
accounts).
Sometimes (not always, but almost) when I close outlook and re-open it
doesn't ask me to choose the profile I want...just opens the last one. Any
idea why this happens?
In task manager, outlook (and word) processes and applications are closed
after closing outlook.

The symptoms indicate that Outlook has not completely shut down before you restart it. The shut down process can take several minutes and sometimes even last past the point where Outlook.exe has disappeared from the task manager.
