Outlook 2003 / Entourage 2004 / Treo 600 Sync

I am new to this forum, so please forgive me if this topic has been
discussed before (I was not able to find anything on this - so I
wrote).

I recently started a new job at which the entire office is using Mac
computers (I have been a PC user for the last 11 years). I rely
extensively on the use of a Treo 600 and to this point Office 2003. My
new work computer features Entourage 2004.

I would like to know if there is any technology or application
available that would allow me to keep the majority of my Contacts,
Calendar, Tasks, and Notes synchronized between the 3 different
operating platforms (essentially, i would like to try and use the Treo
600 to keep the majority of my information sync'd between Outlook 2003
and Entourage 2004.)

Any feedback is greatly appreciated...

Hi Kent:

Yes, check out www.markspace.com - they have software called The Missing
Sync which acts like Active Sync on the Mac.

However, if you are using Palm OS (which I thought was on the Treo 600), I
believe they have software to sync your Palm with Macs too. If so, you
should go to their site first and look up how to sync with your Mac.

I hope that helped.

I moved to a Macbook recently from a PC. I also use a Treo 600. The
transition is easy. MS Office 2004 has a conduit built in for Palm.
Use that you can sync w/ the Treo fine. You'll have to make
adjustments though, to what is synced. It's not as straightforward as
PocketMirror.

oldskool...

Are you still using the PC? That is the real trick for me...I do not
want to abandon the PC (it is my personal computer at home). What I am
hoping to do is use the Palm OS as the "link" to sync between the
Entourage (MAC) application and the Outlook 2003 (PC) application. Are
you able to do this?

I have installed the Entourage conduit and able to sync it between the
MAC and the handheld. I want to gather some more info and suggestions
before trying it with the PC based on some of the horror stories I have
read on some posts. Any thoughts?

Should work just fine Kent. I did this a year or so back with my T600,
Powerbook, and PC running XP Pro. Just set make sure your initial sync has
one "master" source of your info and set all others to overwrite from that
(ie: if PC is master, then PC-Treo sets PC to overwrite handheld, handheld
to overwrite Entourage). From that point on just set standard sync.

Another option (if your work uses Exchange) is to simply set both PC and
Entourage to sync to that. That way no matter if you sync Treo to PC or Treo
to Mac you'll always have the latest info available to you.

Hope this helps!
