Outlook 2003 error message

My operating system is Windows 2000 Professional. I use Microsoft Office
Student and Teacher Edition 2003 and I have the Outlook icon on my desktop
and can open it. I usually use Hotmail for my emailing. Today I wanted to
update my contacts in Outlook and use the calendar. I got the error message:
"This item could not be saved to this folder. The folder has been deleted
or moved, or you do not have permission. Do you want to save a copy of it in
the default folder for the item."

Do I have to: 1) delete messages from my various folders in Hotmail or 2)
reinstall Microsoft Office Student and Teacher Edition 2003?

Please note that a while back I had a booting problem and had to reinstall
my Operating system. Something went awry and now I have 2 systems on my
Local :C disk. Can anyone help me or do I have to call the Nerd Herd and
shell out hundreds of dollars?
