Outlook 2003 folder view problems

Since installing Outlook 2003, I have constant problems with folder views- both custom and simple things like expecting the "Collapse" option to "stick" and the "group" option to stay off. The custom views I had defined were completely "dumped" after the upgrade and when I recreate them, I can never be sure how long they will stay around. The scenario is as follows
Using Exchange Server 2000 on Windows Server 2000 network; my Outlook profile is resident on several machines. Before the upgrade, the structure was as follows: Laptop using WinXP Pro, Outlook XP; Desktop using W2K, Outlook XP; "remote desktop" using WinXP pro, Outlook XP (sync via VPN to exchange server); W2K terminal Server using Outlook XP. No peoblems were evident. After upgrade, all machines except the Tserver and the "Desktop" were upgarded to Outlook 2003. In testing, I deliberately avoided using the TServer and the "Desktop" since they were still using OLXP- just in case it was the culprit. Problems persisted

Any ideas what might be causing the problem??
