Outlook 2003 hangs on closing

We recently upgraded the office to Office 2003. In many
cases now, outlook will not close and therefore cannot be
opened again. We've uninstalled and reinstalled but it
didn't help. Some work fine, some cause problems. Any
suggestions....

Do you have any add-ins installed which may be keeping Outlook open? Some
typical culprits are fax software, PDA sync tools, antivirus checkers and
spam blockers.

I am having similar problem where outlook closes but the
outlook.exe process is still running so I can't open
outlook again until I manually stop that first instance
of outlook. There is palm software running, how do I fix
it from here?

Can you close the Palm software outside of Outlook?
