Outlook 2003 hangs when trying to open Word as editor

I have been using Word as my email editor but suddenly now when I hit reply,
forward or new, the program just hangs trying to load the editor. Suggestions?

I am having the same problem with Outlook 2002. MS article ID 278214
describes the same problem, but offers no solution. Ending the WINWORD.EXE
process and trying again may work for you (but it doesn't work for me).
