I have a user who is using Outlook 2003 SP3 who is having difficulties when
an email arrives that has embedded images.
Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't, but when they don't, Outlook
hangs and that's that.
I have noticed that if I turn the reading pane off, there is a marked
reduction in the instances of Outlook hanging, but this user has an
inordinate love of the reading pane and they will turn it straight back on
again as soon as I have gone.
Bear in mind that the issue still occurs with the reading pane turned off,
just a lot less often.
I have done all the patches/updates that are available and to no avail, this
user is the only one with this problem among 50 others. Even after restarting
Outlook, if they try to view the email that caused them to hang in the first
place, they get the same result which is a real issue when the reading pane
is turned on and the email that caused Outlook to hang is the first cab off
the rank.
Anyone have any ideas?
