I have a user running Outlook 2003 on a WinXP SP3 machine that is connected
to Exchange 2003. It was showing disconnected even though the machine was
connected to the network. We could ping the machine and we could access
resources on the machine. I decided to delete the local Outlook profile from
his machine and start from scratch. I went in to Control Panel, Mail,
Profiles, and delete the Profile. I then rebooted the machine. Once it
booted, I went in to Mail again and created a new profile. I typed the
exchange server and user information and clicked next. Nothing happened.
The Mail screen froze. I had to kill the rundll32 to clear it out. I tried
to do this a few times and it froze every time. I decided to completely
uninstall Outlook 2003 and reinstall and had the same result.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ron
