Outlook 2003 - How do I manually remove a reference to an add-in?

Hi,
This year I got a laptop with windows xp, Ms office 2003 professional
and McAfee antivirus. Since I already had a license of Norton
antivirus and the version of McAfee was a trial version. I decided to
uninstall McAfee. Now everytime I start Ms Outlook 2003 I get a
message saying that a certain add-in related to McAfee wasn't found.
Of course it wasn't going to be found. I removed that application.

I already ran the "detect and repair" feature of oulook that
supposedly corrects issues of that type. That utility doesn't fix
anything related to that add in. Now what I want to do is find a way
to manually remove the reference to that add-in that's long gone.

Thanks for your help,
J

Check in registry, under HKCU\software\microsoft\office\outlook\addins key
whether you have or not such a McAfee addin key. Remove it if you do.

eek no. No need to access the Registry.
Look in Tools | Options | Other tab | Advanced Options | Add-in manager ...
remove teh check from "McAfee ... "
