Outlook 2003 -IMAP Accounts - Sent

Hello,

Here is my challenge:

I am running Outlook 2003 and I run 3 accounts on it.

1. POP Account
2. Gmail Account
3. IMAP Account

My problem is the IMAP account. If I send from my IMAP account it does
not save into the "sent" folder in the IMAP account but saves in the
POP account. I have the Inbox working fine and it saves from the
webmail part of my IMAP account if I send for it.

What am I missing?

This is normal. Since you can have only one set of default folders (the one
fed by the POP accounts), Outlook always stores sent items in the default
Sent Items folder. IMAP has no concept of "Sent Items". If you want to
save outgoing messages sent via the IMAP account to an IMAP folder, then you
must create an outgoing rule that will move a copy of the message to that
folder. You must also disable the option to save messages in the Sent Items
folder or you will get a copy in the IMAP folder and in the Sent Items
folder. Thus, to provide the functionality you seek and preserve the
functionality you have, you will also need another rule as well that moves
copies of remaining outgoing messages to Sent Items. Thus, your two rules
would be:

Apply this rule after I send the message
through the IMAP account
and on this machine only
Move a copy to the IMAP Sent Items folder
and stop processing more rules

Apply this rule after sending the message
Move a copy to the Sent Items folder

The "on this machine only" condition will be applied automatically because
of the IMAP account, since this rule can be a client-side rule only.
However, intrinsically all your rules are client-side only, since you're not
using an Exchange server.
