I patched my admin install point of Office 2003 with the critical update
described at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=828041, and then updated the
workstations using msiexec. That all went fine, but the update seems to have
created a problem with the import/export of PST files. When a user now
exports from Outlook 2003 to a PST file and then imports that PST file to
Outlook 2003 on another machine, they get a warning messagebox titled
"Translation warning" and containing the message "You are importing data to
a location that does not fully support Unicode. To avoid any loss of
multilingual data, it is recommended that you choose a location that
supports Unicode, such as a Microsoft Outlook Personal folders file."
As the data *is* being imported to an Outlook PST file, this would either
appear to be a bogus error message or something has been screwed up by the
update. If the user clicks Ok to continue with the import, the mail items
seem to import correctly (given that I have no multilingual data to test
whether anything is actually being lost).
