Hutlook does not down load incoming mail on the day received at the Hot Mail
server. It does download the E-Mail to the "Yesterday" folder on the
following day.
I ran the Outlook diagnostic "Detect & Repair" succesfully but the problem
is not fixed.
Ref: Operating System = Windows XP
Outlook 2003 with SP-3 installed

What's a "Yesterday folder"? Hotmail doesn't include a folder by that name
unless you created it and control what goes into it.

Outlook in box time divides incomig mail into segments:
"Today, Yesterday, Last Week" etc. Mail received on the Hot MAil Server
normally is received immediately into the "Today" segment. This is not
happening. The incoming E-Mail is loaded into the "Yesterday" segment when
the calender up-dates overnight.

That's not what you said, however. Your words were "yesterday folder". A
grouping in your Inbox folder is NOT a folder. We can't know what you mean by
the words you use if you decide to put your own meanings on them.

I don't understand the reference to the calendar. What does that have to do
with anything in relation to the Inbox? Your Inbox should update when you
click Send/Receive or Outlook performs a send/receive action and if you have
new messages, they should appear in the Inbox on the time group in which they
were received. If you only perform a send/receive overnight, then you won't
see your new messages until the next day and your calendar doesn't enter into
the equation at all.

Let's skip the semantic discussion and focus on a solution to the problem. I
have used Outllok for many years, I know how it should work. The problem is:
E-Mail messages received on my Hot Mail server are not displayed in Outlook

What send/receive interval have you chosen?

B

Brian Tillman [MVP - Outlook]

Send/Receive interval is "Automatic every 5 minutes"

First, try lengthening that to 10 minutes. Also, close Outlook and have
someone send a message to your Hotmail account. Log into Hotmail via your web
browser and see if the message arrives. When it does, open Outlook again and
let if perform a send/receive. Does your newly-received message appear?

Additonally, carefully check your computer's time, date, and time zone
settings.

Send/Receive changed to 10 minutes
Verified computer time, date, time zone correct
Inbox does detect incoming e-mail has arrived and displays correct number of
messages in the hot-mail server. It has always done this no change in this
function.
It will not automatically download the new messages on the day received
It will not display the messages if inbox is opened on the day received
All new messages will be downloaded and displayed on the following day in the
"yesterday" portion of the inbox.

What version of the Outlook COnnector are you using? Is this a free Hotmail
Live account?

Outlook Connector version is : 12.0.6423.1000
I have been an MSN.com subscriber since it was first offered. HotMail is
included in this service, this is not a free E-Mail account.

I would think you'll get better help from MSN, since you pay them for the
privilege of better service and more storage.

Did you try resetting the View? Did you try creating a new mail profile?
