Outlook 2003 install error - "unable to open default email folders", prog closes

"unable to open default email folders" error pops up every
times Outlook 2003 starts up then program window closes.
Cannot successfully start up Outlook on xp pro system.

I don't know much about Outlook but I do know I have that same error message and it is because I deleted my Outlook.pst file from my Outlook data folder
C:\Documents and Settings\"username"\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.ps

There have been some other posts about how to create a new Outlook.pst file, but at the moment I can't give clear instructions on how to do it

you could probably open outlook using the /cleanpst command line switch to create a new one.
