Outlook 2003 is marking CallPilot message store messages read

I am having issues with Outlook 2003 marking CallPilot messages read.
CallPilot is a Nortel Unified Messaging product. It seems to be specific to
the later versions of Outlook 2003, as an example I am running Outlook 2003
ver 11.5606.6568 and my colleague is running 11.8010.6568 he is having the
issue but I am not.
