I am presently unable to get Outlook 2003 Junk e-mail filtering to work on
two different home machines. They have both worked in the past just fine.
Today they both download tons of mails with ***SPAM*** in the subject line,
directly into my Outlook Inbox.. this is very tiresome!
2 machines at home,
• New Acer laptop, running Vista Home Premimum
• New Dell XPS desktop, running XP Pro SP2
Both machines have Outlook 2003 SP3 and all updates for Outlook 2003 up to
date
Both machines are downloading mail from my hosted site using: incoming POP3/
outgoing SMTP.
Both machines exhibit zero junk e-mail filtering
Both have their Outlook junk e-mail filters set to high.
Steps I have tried to get both machines back to filtering junk e-mail.
1. Removed and reinstalled Outlook 2003 junk e-mail updates
2. Made sure Office SP3 is installed on both
3. Ran Detect and Repair several times on both machines. Rebooting just to
make sure.
4. Removed Ad-Aware 2007 on both to insure I have only one scanning tool
engaged
5. Laptop is running AVG 7.5 anti virus
6. Desktop is running McAfee anti virus
7. Changed settings inside Outlook Junk e-mail fliter, to low (apply) then
to HIGH (apply)
Nothing above changes anything, all junk mail is downloaded into my inbox,
while the junk mail folder is empty
