Outlook 2003 Junk Email Deployment Problem

G

Glenn

Hello,

Set the Junk Email setting to High via the
Microsoft Office 2003 Resource Kit's Custom Installation
Wizard. However, in testing the installation with the
applied transform on several test systems the junk
e-mail setting is set to the Low setting. Have double
checked the junk email transform setting and it is still
set to high. It isn't working! Tried to reset the setting
using the Profile Wizard and applying the OPS file but to
no avail. It doesn't work. My management doesn't want to
have a technician to manually reset the setting for all
the different profiles for all deployments we will do.

Is there a registry hack to set the junk email
setting to high?

Thanks!

Glenn

BTW, the deployment is setup for Cached Exchange mode and
the email servers are Windows 2003.

Thanks!

You can use Group Policy to force the setting. This way your users can't
change it to Low either. The adm-template for Group Policy is also located
in the Office Resource Kit.

My company doesn't want to lock down the users that way
cause we are a very big company with users with special
needs who at any time may need to lower the Filter
setting for a particular program.

In resource kit once installed in a file called
Regkey.xls it mention on the first sheet row 506
Key ID keyCUOutlookJunkEmail in Registry path

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0
\Outlook\JunkEmail

Unfortunately I can't find a Value name or data with it
to make it work. Anyone have any ideas?

Create a new REG_DWORD and assign it the value of 3
