Hi,
I have spent a fair amount of time the last few days trying to figure
out how to get Outlook to start filtering Junk Email again after it
mysteriously stopped working. My Outlook is configured to read mail
from a couple of POP accounts and store to an Exchange Server. The
exchange server account was set to Cached Exchange Mode. I tried
creating a new Outlook Profile, which did not correct the problem.
Detect and Repair also did not correct the problem. Finally, out of
desparation, I renamed the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook to
Outlook-Snafu and started Outlook up again. It churned for a bit
recreating settings and VOILA my junk mail filters are working again. I
have no idea why this worked or what the real problem was, but I'm
happy I don't have to delete dozens of junk mail messages a day by hand
any more. Since this does not seem to be an uncommon problem, maybe
this info will help some others.
