We're using Exchange and Outlook 2003. I have a user who was sent a
meeting request that appears to be corrupted. We can't open it,
delete it, move it - nothing. If you right-click on the meeting (or
highlight it and hit "delete"), Outlook locks up and you see the
notification bubble "Outlook is trying to retrieve data from the
Exchange server..." All other messages, meetings, etc...are fully
accessible with no problems. There were 10 other recipients for that
meeting request who accepted it without issue.
1. I tried to work with the meeting while Outlook was in safe mode,
and ran a few command-line switches (cleanfreebusy).
2. The originator of the meeting request has since canceled and
deleted the meeting.
3. None of the user's other calendar items are affected. Just
clicking on this one locks up Outlook until you end task on it.
4. I logged on as the user to a different machine, new profile,
etc...still locked up on this meeting.
5. I assigned my login full permissions to the user's mailbox and
tried to delete the meeting from my calendar.
6. OS and Outlook have been patched, running SP2 for Office.
I'm stumped.
