Outlook 2003-messages stuck in Outbox

M

Mark

I have been "cleaning" out my Inbox and Sent Messages file etx, because I
realize that if the inbox is too large, messages will get stuck. But the
messages are still getting stuck.

Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what has worked to resolve it.

Thanks

I don't understand what your Inbox emails have to do with items stuck in your
Outbox so I think more details are required.

What type of mail account do you have?

If you have a POP3 account, your PST should be able to accommodate quite a
bit of email unless you upgraded from an earlier version of Outlook and
brought the older PST up instead of creating a new one.

If you have an Exchange account, you likely have a cap on your mailbox size.
If this is the case then add a PST to your profile and move emails into it.
If neither are the case, then there's a different reason emails get stuck in
the Outbox.

Please advise.

Get stuck where? Outlook 2003 will allow in excess of 65,000 messages in
each and every folder. Right-click on the root of your folders and choose
Properties. If there is an Advanced button, click it. Do you see a
"Format" field? If so, what does it contain exactly?

the usual fix for a stuck message:
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/stuck_message.htm

unless you are using an old pst created in an old version of outlook and it
has a lot of items in it, how many items you have in the other folders won't
affect the outbox.

Hello:

Thanks for the response. We originally had Outlook Express and when we got a
new hard drive, we installed Outlook 2003 with Outlook Connector. We do have
a POP3 connection.

I just went through and checked the size of various folders within
Outlook....I think I may have found the culprit-The folder called Sync Issues
is 115kb + and the file Sync Issue/local failures is 3289kb....would there be
a tool out there to resolve the sync issue?

Thanks,

What do the messages in the sync folders say is wrong? How you fix it
depends on what the error messages say.
