We have about 4000 contacts in Outlook 2003. Its hard to clean up the data in
Outlook so we export to Excel, clean it up and re-import it.
The first problem was the 255 character limit on export so all the notes
fields got truncated at 255 chars. We solved this by exporting to Access mdb,
then open that in Excel, clean it up and re-import it back to Outlook (you
have to add the named range "Contacts" if you do this as its not created
automatically.)
The second issue is that its not importing the email addresses. None of
them, including the email type and display name for Email, Email2 and Email3.
We did a simple export to Excel and back just to test it, same problem. No
email addresses. This one stumped me. The addresses are fine in Outlook. They
were simply exported and then re-imported.
Any clues to this would be much appreciated.
